Stating that they are aiming to deliver the vehicles at the end of this year, Karsan CEO Okan Baş said: “Within the scope of the tender, we will also install a total of 28 fast and slow charging stations in Chitila as well as supplying our electric buses. Thus, we will carry out the electrical transformation of the public transportation system in Chitila. Thanks to our pioneering role in electric mobility, we, as Karsan, are pleased to supply the first electric vehicles of Chitila, too.”

Moving rapidly to become a global brand in the public transportation sector, Karsan continues to be the choice of Europe with the products and technologies it has developed. Karsan, which maintains the growth particularly in its target markets, has added another one to the tenders it won. Karsan has secured the 23-electric vehicle tender made in Chitila, Romania, and signed another contract.

A first for the 12-meter e-ATA!

Karsan will produce 10 units of e-ATAK buses (8 meters) and 13 units of e-ATA buses (12 meters) under the terms of the tender and make them available to the people of Chitila. Expressing that they are aiming to deliver the vehicles at the end of this year, Karsan CEO Okan Baş stated: “Within the scope of the tender, as well as providing our electric buses, we will also install a total of 28 fast and slow charging stations in Chitila. Thus, we will carry out the electrical transformation of the public transportation system in Chitila. Through our pioneering role in electric mobility, we, as Karsan, are happy to supply the first electric vehicles of Chitila as well.” Okan Baş sharing that they signed a contract for the 12-meter e-ATA for the first time with this tender, said: “e-ATA and e-ATAK are our models that have proven their success in Europe. Last year, 12-meter Karsan e-ATAK model won ‘Sustainable Bus of the Year’ award in the urban transportation category at the Sustainable Bus Awards. e-ATAK, on the other hand, has been the market leader in Europe for two consecutive years. With this tender, we are happy to offer service with the 12-meter size of our 10 and 18-meter e-ATA models, which are already running on the roads in Romania.”

Emphasizing that Romania is one of the main markets of Karsan, Okan Baş continued: “With Anadolu Automobil Rom, our distributor, Karsan brand is growing stronger in the Romanian market. As of today, 175 Karsan electric vehicles are in service in Romania. With the recent tender in Chitila we have secured, and the current orders we will deliver, our car park in the country is to reach 240 units at the end of the year. We will also install charging stations within the scope of the tender. In this way, we will also carry out the electrical transformation of the public transportation system in Chitila.
