Clariant to Showcase More Sustainable Solutions For Agriculture At CAC 2024

  • The Sapogenat T range of nonionic emulsifiers featured at CAC as NPE alternatives.
  • (L)-Glufosinate performs as an environmentally friendly herbicide under the Synergen range of powerful low-foaming moisturizing solutions.
  • Modified polyboxylate anionic dispersing agent Dispersogen C 4020 highlighted for significantly improved product stability and ease of use.

Clariant will highlight its latest offerings dedicated to the agricultural industry at the upcoming 24th China International Agrochemical & Crop Protection Exhibition (CAC) to be held at the National Exhibition and Convention Center in Shanghai on 13-15 March 2024. On display will be a host of high-performance solutions, including environmentally friendly options, to replace traditional ones in a wide range of product areas.

In one of the most populous countries in the world, the agricultural industry in China shoulders huge responsibilities for consistent growth to ensure strong output for ever-growing market demand. In the meantime, as stipulated under the 14th Five-Year Plan by the central government, innovation and green development will be prioritized to bring about sustained growth for the industry as a whole.

“Under the backdrop of heightened industry demand and government expectations, Clariant will exhibit at the CAC show around the theme ‘Serve with heart, harvest with plenty.’ We will show visitors how our full line-up of crop solutions can help them achieve improved efficiency and greater harvest, where most solutions offer a proven environmentally-friendly and sustained approach,” said Toshiaki Shinohara, Clariant’s Head of Crop Solutions APAC, Business Unit Care Chemicals.

Among the products featured at CAC 2024 is the Sapogenat T range, designed as a replacement for NPE, restricted since March 2023. The Sapogenat T range functions as a non-ionic emulsifier based on tri-sec-butylphenol with various ethoxylation degrees. Considered the best-performing NPE alternative, it offers excellent emulsification power, making it a good wetter capable of increasing pesticide efficacy in foliar application.

Also on show is the Synergen range of powerful low-foaming moisturizing solutions that contain glufosinate as the active ingredient. Glufosinate is a broad-spectrum touch-type inactivating herbicide. In addition to having the characteristics of a broad spectrum, it also displays low toxicity, high activity and good environmental compatibility. Glufosinate formulations ensure good crop growth, while helping to achieve food security.

Finally, Dispersogen C 4020 is a modified polymer carboxylate that functions as an anionic dispersant suitable for the development of pesticides, inorganic pigments, suspension fertilizers and other agrochemical products. It is capable of significantly improving product stability, while effectively reducing system viscosity, making it suitable for applications in a wide range of industries.

“Our versatile range of crop performance and protection products provides Chinese customers the flexibility to adapt formulations to regional requirements while meeting environmental standards. With on-the-ground technical experts and the full force of our global R&D backing these efforts, Clariant is poised to keep investing in and growing with China’s agricultural chemical industry. Our customers know they can count on effective, more sustainable solutions to help safely feed a growing population while stewarding the land for future generations,” says Uwe Dahlmann, Clariant’s Global Head of Crop Solutions, Business Unit Care Chemicals.

Clariant will exhibit at booth 81F37 of Hall 8.1 during the 24th CAC at the National Exhibition and Convention Center, where their team of technology and customer service specialists will be on hand to give full product highlights and answer any questions.
